How to use Anavar sublingually as a pre-workout
Intro
Anavar is one of the most popular oral steroids, and for good reason!
It’s very powerful and also has a much better safety profile than other oral steroids such as Anadrol, Winstrol, Halotestin and Dianabol which come with a myriad of potential issues.
This post will detail how to use Anavar sublingually as a pre-workout androgen for it’s acute performance enhancing benefits.
I’ll detail how to do it, the benefits, drawbacks, dosage and timing.
Benefits
The main benefit of sublingual administration is acute increased gym performance.
For me sublingual Anavar surpasses Anadrol in terms of a raw strength boost it provides, and I’m easily able to lift 10-15% more weight and squeeze out more reps.
Sublingual administration can be particularly useful towards the end of a cut to help maintain gym performance – which is one of the best ways to offset muscle and strength loss from a prolonged calorie deficit.
A great benefit is that it can make the workout itself much more enjoyable. The pumps are increased in both size and duration.
Mind-muscle connection is enhanced and taken to a whole other level, so you can be much more in-tune with your body and ‘feel’ each muscle contraction and squeeze more intensely.
Another benefit for those like myself that react negatively to Anavar activating the sympathetic nervous system, is that sublingual administration can be an effective way to bypass most of those effects allowing you to return to a more favourable parasympathetic state post workout much easier. This results in better digestion and sleep (if you train in the evening).
Although Anavar is one of the more benign anabolic steroids anyway, it’s speculated that taking Anavar sublingually makes the majority of it skip first pass of the liver, making it even less toxic of a substance than taking it orally.
How to do it
Dosing anavar sublingually is very simple, yet I still see so many people online asking how to do it properly.
Here is how to do it most effectively, step by step.
Step 1. Get rid of excess saliva
You don’t want your mouth to be swamped in saliva, this is because after a minute or two they’ll be too much and it’ll be gross – making you want to swallow some or spit it out.
Step 2. Place desired dose of Anavar under your tongue. If it’s a pill, crush it up until it turns to mush using your tongue.
If your Anavar pills are tougher, grind them up into powder first.
Step 3. Let it sit under your tongue for 10 minutes.
Step 4. Swallow whatever remains with a drink.
Step 5. Wait 30-40 minutes
Step 6. Smash your workout!
Pretty basic right?
Anavar Dosage
Dosing can vary a lot, typically between 10-50mg is used for men and 2.5-10mg for women.
My sweet spot is 25mg but I would recommend starting lower. This is important if it’s your first time just to gauge individual response.
In my experience with Anavar, diminishing returns start to set in past 25mg, so for me there’s little point in pushing it further.
Anavar Timing
After lots of experimentation, I’ve found the best time to use Anavar sublingually is 30-40 minutes before you work out.
Taking it sublingually vastly decreases the half life, but in return gives a sharp spike in serum concentration levels that result in a transient performance boost which can be utilised during the workout window.
Drawbacks
Anecdotally, using Anavar sublingually as opposed to orally dimished the cosmetic results I normally expect from Anavar.
I suspect this is because serum concentration levels of the drug can never reach a steady state like they could be with consistent oral administration, instead they’re spiked for very short periods of time.
For this reason, I also speculate that if you are cutting and want to use Anavar for its muscle sparing properties by inhibiting cortisol via, the glucocorticoid pathway.
Then it is probably better to use it orally due to the longer halflife rather than sublingually.
This is so you can extend the glucocorticoid receptor suppression theoretically resulting in more muscle protein spared while calories are in a net deficit.
Stacking
I like to stack sublingual Anavar with a stimulant like caffeine to further increase the drive and mind muscle connection during workouts.
You can also stack it with a vasodialtor such as 5mg tadalafil and/or 5-7g citruline malate taken an hour before the workout. These boost nitric oxide and in combination with anavar can lead to some gnarly pumps and vascularity.
Warning: It’s important to check for any interactions with medication you are taking before using vasodiolators.
If you have low blood pressure, using tadalafil and a nitric oxide substrate can drop blood pressure even more leading to complications.
Overview
All in all, I think sublingual administration has some great benefits for athletes looking for acute performance enhancement.
However. there’s also some drawbacks to take into consideration.
It’s up to you and your specific goals as to what administration method you want to use.
A combination of both oral and sublingual can also be used depending on your training schedule.
For example you could use oral administration for upper body workouts and then sublingual for legs to get a greater performance boost.
